Gallows Point Marina Environmental Assessment

Planning and environmental assessment of a proposed marina in the Menai Strait, near Beaumaris, North Wales. The ES was required under the Town and Country Planning Regulations and supported the planning application for the development. A scoping and consultation exercise was undertaken allowing a focused assessment of marine, terrestrial and social issues associated with the study area. The application was subject to Public Inquiry through the Welsh Assembly.
Further to this, specialist advice was provided in assisting Anglesey Boat Company Ltd to comply with Section 106 conditions attached to planning permission for the development of the marina and FEPA construction licence conditions. This included specification and co-ordination of environmental monitoring surveys (e.g. birds, water quality, marine sediment, etc), tendering and procurement of specialist surveyors, review and preparation of an Environmental Management Plan and consultation with regulatory authorities.
